嚴島神社

嚴島神社（イメージ）

日本三景のひとつ（※）で、世界文化遺産に指定された「嚴島神社」があります。島全体が聖地とされ、伐採を禁じられたため豊かな原生林が残されています。古来より神々の島として崇められ、歴史も古く、史実に残る多くの人が崇敬してきました。特に平清盛・平家一門の宮島崇拝は有名で、嚴島神社の造営まで行っています。また、宮島には季節を感じさせる花・植物も多く、四季ごとに移り変わる花々をお楽しみいただくことができます。
