Car No. 1 (Image)

The romantic color, classical shape, and material are made of bright and gentle maple wood. The interior is equipped with two-seat and four-seat seats, and the coffered ceiling, which was also used in the "Seven Stars in Kyushu", is used inside the car. The warmth of the wood can be felt inside the car.

We offer a compartment (private room for two) surrounded by calm colors and walnut kumiko. The kumiko technique is the same as that used on the "Seven Stars in Kyushu."

A legendary luxury train revived after 100 years

In 1906, the Kyushu Railway ordered luxury passenger cars from the American company Brill, but the Kyushu Railway was nationalized and the "Kyushu Railway Brill Passenger Car," commonly known as 'Aru Ressha' never had a chance to be used. This legendary luxury passenger car, which was the most luxuriously equipped in Japan at the time, was brought back to life in Kyushu in the summer of 2015.
The model was created by the late Shintaro Hara, who loved trains and was known as the global god of model trains. Based on this model, Eiji Mitooka and Dawn Design Institute designed and engineered it. It was supervised by Takehito Hara, deputy director of the Hara Model Railway Museum. In a luxurious space that rivals Cruise train "Seven Stars in Kyushu," this blissful D&S train offers a course meal produced by Chef Yoshihiro Narusawa, who continues to create dishes themed around the natural environment.

The course menu for 'Aru Ressha' is directed by Yoshihiro Narisawa.
Mr. Narusawa is the owner and chef of the restaurant "NARISAWA" in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, and has made a name for himself both in Japan and overseas as a chef who continues to create dishes themed around the natural environment.
The ingredients are, of course, made in Kyushu. Mr. Narisawa personally visits producers all over Kyushu and uses only the highest quality ingredients that he has checked with all his senses.
The tableware is also original, made specially for this train by Kyushu artisans.
It creates a luxurious experience that is out of the ordinary.
