The Chitose Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival features a variety of ice sculptures of all sizes, made by spraying water from Lake Shikotsu, which is famous for having some of the best water quality and transparency in Japan, with sprinklers to freeze it.
During the day, it shines in a natural blue color known as Lake Shikotsu Blue, and at night it is lit up with colorful lights, allowing you to enjoy a fantastical world that changes with the hour.
