Lake Towada straddles Towada City, Aomori Prefecture and Kosaka Town, Akita Prefecture, and is the only double caldera lake in Japan.
It is 401m above sea level, has a circumference of about 46.2km, and is 326.8m deep at its deepest point. It is the 12th largest lake in Japan in terms of area and the third deepest lake in Japan.
The biggest attraction of Towadako is the lake cruise. You can enjoy a 50-minute cruise around the beautiful Towadako in all four seasons.
Oirase Gorge is located in Towada Hachimantai Kunitate Koen and is a 14km long stream that runs from Nenokuchi in Towadako to Yakeyama.
It is a nationally designated special scenic spot and natural monument. Trekking along the promenade along the mountain stream is also recommended! The scenery is especially beautiful during the season of fresh greenery and autumn leaves..
Mt. Hakkoda is one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains and the northernmost volcanic group on Honshu, consisting of 18 stratovolcanoes and lava domes..
Many marshes, such as Tashiro Marsh and the Tamoyachi Marsh, are dotted around the area, and you can enjoy a variety of flowers, such as rowan, white rhododendron, and Siberian hydrangea, along with views of the mountains.
At the foot of the mountain, you can enjoy hot springs such as Sukayu, famous for its bath for 1,000 people.

A mysterious lake with deep blue water is surrounded by deep greenery. The visibility is also high, and the deepest point, 327 m, is the third deepest in Japan.
Oirase Stream
The clear stream flowing from Lake Towada becomes a torrent. You can enjoy the ever-changing scenery of the water as it cascades down in various shapes.
Mt. Hakkoda
Mt. Hakkoda a chain of more than 10 mountains, including Mt. Akakura and Mt. Takada, with Mt. Odake at an altitude of 1,584m as its main peak. Take Hakkoda Ropeway for a 10-minute aerial stroll.
