Takachiho Gorge

This gorge is a nationally designated place of scenic beauty and natural monument, with high cliffs stretching for 7 kilometers, including Manai Falls, which has been designated one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan.

It is held every night at the Kagura Hall in the grounds of Takachiho Shrine to pray for a good harvest, and is registered as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
