The Sansa Odori is one of the five major festivals Tohoku, and takes place on Chuo-dori in Morioka city (about 1km from the prefectural office) from Aug. 1st to 4th.

As evening approaches, the grand Sansa Dance parade begins with a roaring signal fire in the crimson summer sky!
The sound of the Ten Thousand Taiko drums, which was recognized as a world record (in 2007), resonates deep within the bodies of not only the dancers but also the spectators, echoing through the Morioka night.
