The most important festival to give thanks for blessings: Kannamesai

Among the approximately 1,500 annual rituals held at Ise Shrine, the most important festival is the Kanname-sai, an important ceremony that is also regarded as the New Year's celebrations at Ise Shrine.
The Kanname-sai festival is a festival in which the first new grains harvested that year are offered to Amaterasu Omikami, to give thanks for the bountiful harvest. The festival centers around the Yuki-o-mikomisen offerings and headdresses, and various other rituals are also held, such as the Okitama-no-kami Festival, Miura, and Mikagura.
