This strangely shaped rock is about 20m high, and when the setting sun shines over its tip, it looks like a giant lit candle.
Try to get the best shot from a sightseeing boat that departs just as the sun sets.

Tamawakasu Shrine

The main hall, Zuishinmon Gate, and former worship hall, all built in the Oki style, are all designated as Important Cultural Properties by the national government.
Within the grounds, there is also the Yaosugi cedar, a nationally designated natural monument.

Shirashima Observatory

Hakushima coast, at the northernmost tip of Dogo Island, is dotted with islands such as Matsushima, Okinoshima, and Hakushima, and weathering and marine erosion over the years have created a unique and beautiful landscape.

Iwakura's Breast Cedar

The tree is said to be about 800 years old, with a height of about 30m and a trunk circumference of about 5m. The main trunk branches into 15 branches, and 24 breast-shaped roots of various sizes hang down from the branches.

Moo-moo Dome (Bull-thrusting)

It is said that this was held to console Emperor Go-Toba, who was exiled to Oki Islands following the Jokyu War (1221), and it has a tradition and pride of nearly 800 years, making it the oldest in Japan.

This is a popular spot from which you can get a panoramic view of Kokuka coast, a scenic spot representative of Oki

Matengai

It is a huge cliff 257m high that looks as if it was cut vertically with a giant knife.
It is one of the tallest cliffs in Japan, formed by marine erosion.

Cave of Light and Darkness

This is a cave located on Kuniga Coast, and when you enter you will be greeted by the cobalt blue sea.
It is said that if the conditions are right, such as the waves and wind, you can pass through it and be blessed with good fortune and longevity.

Onimai Observatory

Located in the southwestern part of the island, it is a scenic spot overlooking Shimamae Utsumi and Japan, offering idyllic scenery.

Nakanoshima Island

Anyone can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the ocean on a semi-submersible observation boat, observing large fish swimming amongst the lush seaweed and schools of small fish.
On night Cruise, you can see the mysterious glowing plankton from summer through to autumn.

Heart Rock at Akiya Coast

The contrast between the red cliffs and the deep blue sea is beautiful, and there is a legend that a goddess gave birth here. Due to its appearance, it is also called "Heart Rock" and can be seen floating on the sea surface.

Oki Shrine

It was built to commemorate the 700th anniversary of Emperor Gotoba's death.
The main hall is a unique structure built in the Oki style, and nearby are the remains of a temporary residence and a cremation mound.
