Ito area

Mount Komuro

Mount Komuro is 321 meters above sea level. You can take a sightseeing lift from the base to the summit. The summit is a beautiful grassland, and from the panoramic observation deck you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Izu Seven Islands and the Amagi Mountains floating in Sagami Bay.

Mount Omuro

It is 580m above sea level. It is the most recent volcano and is estimated to have erupted about 3,700 years ago. You can take a sightseeing lift from the base to the summit. The beautiful natural view of the sea and mountains from the hiking trail is amazing.

Ito Marine Town

This colorful roadside station is located at the entrance to Ito Onsen, the gateway to the Izu Peninsula. There are about 20 shops and restaurants, and you can also enjoy the natural hot spring "Seaside Spa" and sightseeing boats.

Tokaikan

It is one of a group of three-story wooden hot spring inns along the Matsukawa River that still retain the hot spring atmosphere from the end of the Taisho period to the early Showa period.
Founded in 1928, it operated as an inn, undergoing several expansions and renovations, but in 1997 it closed its doors, bringing its long history to an end. Since then, there have been requests to preserve it, and it has remained as it is to this day.

Lake Ippeki

It is a beautiful gourd-shaped lake with a circumference of 4km. There is a walking trail that can be completed in about an hour and a half. You can experience the different expressions of the four seasons amidst the abundant nature, so you can enjoy a pleasant walk no matter what time of year you visit.

Jogasaki Coast

When Mt. Omuro erupted about 4,000 years ago, lava flowed out into the sea, and it is a magnificent lava rock rock coast that was carved by the erosion of the sea. The coastline is lined with cliffs, intricate reefs deep in the bosom, and the view from cape to cape is simply spectacular.

Izu Takahara, Cherry Blossom Trees

The rows of cherry blossom trees stretching for about 3 km from Izu-Kogen Station are known as the "Cherry Blossom Tunnel" and the "Cherry Blossom Arch." Approximately 1,500 Yoshino cherry trees are planted along the avenue.

Izu Cactus Park

In the five large greenhouses, you can appreciate about 1,500 kinds of cacti and succulents, and you can see about 100 kinds of animals up close through shows and interaction experiences. A cute family of capybaras is also waiting for you.

Higashiizu area

Kawazu cherry blossoms

Taking advantage of Izu's warm climate and early flowering characteristics, the cherry blossoms begin blooming in early Feb. every year and reach full bloom about a month later. The vivid pink color of the cherry blossoms makes them a sight to behold. They will soothe your soul and make you feel the spring coming a little early.

Hanging Doll Festival

Since the late Edo period, there has been a custom of hanging decorations handmade by mothers or grandmothers to pray for the growth of their daughters.
Each doll has a meaning; Hana (as cute as a flower), Peach (for warding off evil spirits in girls, medicinal properties, and to extend life), and Monkey (to ward off evil spirits).

South Izu area

Minami no Sakura

The symbol of Minami-Izu Town "Minami no Sakura". Although it has a shorter history than Kawazu Sakura, the yellow color of the rape flowers and the pink color of the cherry blossoms that bloom along the river are beautiful and delight the eyes of visitors.

Shimoda Ropeway

Take Shimoda Ropeway to Nesugatayama, a famous spot for spectacular views and matchmaking! The summit is a flower park where seasonal flowers await you.

Dogashima

Due to the beauty of its scenery, it is known as "Izu's Matsushima." There is a cave called Tenmado Cave (designated a natural monument in 1935) that was formed by seawater over a long period of time, and the central ceiling has collapsed, hence the name.

You can enjoy the temple where Shuzenji Hot Spring originated, Takebayashi path along Keisen that runs through the center of the hot spring town, Park Shuzenji spread across a vast hilly area, and the 10.8 km long driving course that runs along the middle of Mount Daruma.

Joren Falls

It flows down the basalt rock face over a width of 7m and a height of 25m, making it one of the "100 Best Waterfalls in Japan." The waterfall is the setting for the legend of Jorogumo, and in the tranquil atmosphere created by the lush primeval forest that surrounds the waterfall, the sight of the water gushing down with a loud roar is powerful and mysterious.
