Underwater ruins (Yonaguni Island, Okinawa Prefecture)
Mysterious ruins lying in the sea of Yonaguni
These underwater ruins lie in the waters off Yonaguni, an island located almost halfway between Ishigaki Island and Taiwan, at the westernmost tip of Japan.
Its true identity is a monolith about 100m in length, 60m in width, and 25m in height, located on the seabed just 100m offshore from the cliff cape of Shinkawahana.
Whether it is a natural or man-made formation remains a mystery.
Since being discovered by divers in 1986, the underwater ruins remain shrouded in mystery, and many divers come to dive into the ocean to get a glimpse of them.
