A mysterious and magnificent sight created by nature over many years

Hotokegaura is located on the blade of the axe-shaped Shimokita Peninsula, and is a spectacular sight of towering whitish-green tuff rock, carved by waves and rain, stretching for about 2 kilometers.
The pale blue rocks stand in a forest, creating a scene that is reminiscent of the Pure Land at the end of the earth. The rocks are all named after Buddhas, such as 500 Arhats, Nyorai no Kubi, Kannon Rock, and Jizo Rock. Take a tour boat to see the soul-cleansing rocks. The view of the white-green color that spreads before your eyes is overwhelming.
