The Lake Biwa Fireworks Festival is a festival of fireworks launched from two locations off the coast of Otsu Port in Hamaotsu, Otsu City.

"Starmine" refers to rapid-fire fireworks, and at the Lake Biwa Fireworks Festival, many people are impressed by the unique features of launching fireworks over the lake, such as the "Lakeside Development Starmine," "Diagonal Starmine," and the "Large Starmine" that serves as the finale.
