What is Awa Odori?
The world-famous Awa Odori dance from Tokushima is a traditional performing art with over 400 years of history. It is held in Tokushima City, the birthplace of the dance, from Aug. 12th to 15th every year, attracting over one million tourists from Japan and abroad, and has become a seasonal feature of Tokushima's summer.

Oboke Gorge

Oboke Gorge is a valley in the upper reaches of Yoshino in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture. It stretches for about 8 km and is said to have been formed over a period of more than 200 million years.

The Kobe Awaji Naruto Expressway crosses two straits, a route that is 89.0 km long, starting from the scenic Maiko Beach, crossing the Akashi Strait, heading south along Awaji Island, and crossing the Naruto Strait, famous for its beautiful natural scenery and whirlpools.

This scene is also depicted in the lyrics of the Kochi song "Yosakoi Bushi," and the arch-shaped coastline harmonizes with the green pine trees and deep blue sea in this magnificent scenic spot, where there is a bronze statue of Kochi hero, Sakamoto Ryoma.
Kotohira Shrine
(Kagawa Prefecture)
Since ancient times, the shrine has been affectionately known as "Konpira-san," and the long stone steps leading to the main shrine have 785 steps. Souvenir and udon shops are lined up on both sides of the approach.
