Q1.Is tipping necessary?
A.
Tipping is not required on the Asuka II. Enjoy Cruise without worrying.
Q2. Will everything on board be in Japanese?
A.
Yes, you can speak Japanese on board.
Q3.What kind of clothes should I wear on board?
A.
Please wear the same clothes as you normally would during the day.
There is a dress code in place from the evening (around 5pm) onwards.
The dress code is divided into three categories: casual, informal, and formal.
The dress code will be announced in the "Schedule" which will be sent to you approximately one month prior to departure, and in the ship's newspaper, "Asuka Daily", on the day of departure.

Men: Shirt with collar, slacks, etc.
Women: blouse, skirt, etc.
*Even if the dress code is "casual," please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, work clothes, tracksuits, etc. outside your guest room.
Informal
Men: Suits, jackets, and other outerwear.
We recommend wearing a necktie (including ascot ties, bolo ties, etc.).
Women: One-piece, two-piece

Q4.Can I board the ship in a wheelchair?
A.
Yes, you can. We do have rooms for wheelchair users, so please make sure to contact us in advance. Please be sure to have a companion who can assist you when boarding. Also, please make sure that the companion stays with the wheelchair user and do not travel alone. Please note that for safety reasons, wheelchairs cannot board tender boats or local boats at the landing point via ferry.
*There are some restrictions on the use of electric wheelchairs, so please contact us in advance.
*If you leave your wheelchair outside your room, it will obstruct the passage of other guests, so please be sure to bring it inside the room.
*Rented wheelchairs cannot be taken off the ship.
Q5.Can I smoke?
A.
Smoking is prohibited in all guest rooms (including balconies).
Please use the designated smoking areas on board the ship.
All seats in the restaurant are non-smoking.
Q6.What should I do if I get seasick or feel unwell?
A.
Asuka II is designed to reduce rolling by using anti-rolling devices (fin stabilizers) and other equipment. If you would like to receive medical treatment, please come to the medical room (4th deck) (fees apply). In the case of an emergency, we will treat you even outside of our opening hours, so please contact the reception.
*Medical insurance such as health insurance is not applicable.
Q7.Have we decided where we will be seated for Meals?
A.
You are free to sit wherever you like for breakfast. As a rule, dinner is served twice a day, and seats may be assigned to you.
More details will be provided after boarding.
*As a measure to prevent infection, seats in the restaurant (for dinner) will be assigned in advance.

Q9. Can I eat after dinner?

Before you go to sleep, we offer a late night snack. Enjoy noodles, cakes, fruit, and more, which change daily. We also offer sushi at Umihiko (fee required) and a room service menu (fee required).

Q10.Can it be cleaned?

Available for Cruise of 2 nights or more (charge applies). Please fill out the application form provided in your room and submit it to your room attendant or reception. We cannot accept special materials (leather, kimono, etc.), specially processed items (pleated, sequined items, etc.), or luxury brand items.
*Compensation standards for losses, damages, etc. incurred during paid cleaning will be based on the "Cleaning Accident Compensation Standards" set by the National Center for Guidance on Life Hygiene Businesses.
Self-service laundry
On each guest room floor, there are washing machines, dryers, irons, and other facilities that you can use freely 24 hours a day. We provide detergent, fabric softener, bleach, and spray glue for ironing (free of charge). You will need your boarding pass (room key) to enter the rooms. Please use the self-service laundry on your guest room floor.

No. Please feel free to drink any drinks in the refrigerator in your room.
Instant cameras, batteries, etc. are available for purchase at the reception (5 decks), the Photo Shop (6 decks), and Asuka Collections "Le Bleu" (6 decks).
Tobacco sales: Some brands of cigarettes are available at Asuka Collections' "Le Bleu" (Deck 6).

There are two types of public telephones on deck 6. The telephones you can use vary depending on the area the Asuka II is sailing.
[NTT Telephone] Public telephone for the coast of Japan. Edy (electronic money) and 100 yen coins can be used.
[KDDI Telephone] This is a public telephone for use outside the coast of Japan. You can use prepaid cards (telephone cards) and credit cards sold on board.

You will be out of signal range while sailing at sea, but you may be able to receive a signal while sailing along the coast.

We offer the "@STATION Service (web browsing)" and "Asuka II Wi-Fi (internet connection) Service" which use satellite communications, as well as the "Asuka II Mail Service" which uses an email address that is only valid while on board (fees apply).

Information about events, shows, and various programs taking place on board during Cruise will be provided in the ship's newspaper, "Asuka Daily," which is delivered to your cabin each day.
Q15.What should I do if I have a food allergy?
A.
If you have food allergies and require Meals, please inquire at the consultation desk on board the Asuka II after boarding.
(※Even if you have previously notified us about your food allergies, please stop by each time you board the ship.)
