Kegon Falls

(Image)

Kegon Falls is a waterfall formed when the water of Lake Chuzenji falls over a cliff 97m high. There are two observation decks, where you can enjoy the whole view of the waterfall and the trees at the same time, and get a close-up look at the waterfall basin. The observation deck at the waterfall basin, which can be reached by a special elevator, hosts a nighttime light-up event in Nov.. The elevator is always in operation during business hours, so you can easily get on even during the tourist season. You can enjoy the scenery of each season, with fresh greenery in spring, autumn leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter.

Lake Chuzenji

(Image)

Located at the entrance to Nikko, this lake is located at an altitude of 1,269m above sea level. It is said that its original shape was created by the eruption of Mt. Nantai about 20,000 years ago. As it shows different scenery depending on the season, it was a popular summer resort for foreigners from the Meiji period to the early Showa period. You can enjoy the scenery of each season on the "Lake Chuzenji Cruise" that takes you around the famous spots.

Ashikaga Flower Park

(Image)

Ashikaga Flower Park is a facility roughly the size of two Tokyo Domes where you can enjoy seasonal flowers all year round. The "Fuji no Hana Monogatari" event, held from mid-Apr. to mid-May., is a popular event where you can see more than 350 wisteria flowers, including three large wisteria trees, a rare double-flowered wisteria trellis, and a white wisteria tunnel. The "Garden of Light Flowers," held from late Oct. to early Feb. of the following year, is recognized as one of the "Three Greatest Illuminations in Japan." The park is decorated with approximately 4.5 million lights, the largest in eastern Japan, and offers a different charm from the daytime.

Fukiware Falls

(Image)

(Image)

This waterfall is located in Numata City, in the northern part of Gunma Prefecture. It has a unique shape with water flowing down from three sides into a cleft in the rocks, and is called the "Niagara of Toyo" due to its overwhelming power. It is a rare, long waterfall. It has a drop of about 7m and a width of about 30m, and the sight of it roaring and spraying water as it flows is simply breathtaking. In spring, the amount of water increases with melting snow, making it even more impressive. In summer, it is a healing place with a cool breeze blowing through, and in autumn, it is a popular spot for viewing autumn leaves. There are many tourist spots in the surrounding area, such as "Hannya Rock", named after the towering rock wall that resembles the human demon, and "Masutobi Falls", which has a drop of about 15m. For those who want to spend a relaxing time, we also recommend "Oigami Onsen".

Kusatsu Hot Springs

Kusatsu Onsen is one of Japan's leading hot springs, located in the northwest of Gunma Prefecture. It is one of the three most famous hot springs in Japan, and boasts an abundant supply of hot water and its quality. In the center of the hot spring town is the "Yubata", where the smell of sulfur wafts from the steam that covers the area. Because the temperature of the hot spring is high, the "Yumomi" method of lowering the temperature using wooden boards is famous. There are more than 150 inns lined up, and you can choose from a variety of Accommodation to suit your group size and preferences, from traditional inns to large hotels. There are tourist spots such as Anamori Inari Shrine and Kusatsu Shiraneyama in the surrounding area. Kusatsu Onsen is known as the "Okumiage no Yu" hot spring used by Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune, and in the Edo period it was always ranked at the top of the "Hot Spring Rankings" in the east and was very popular. Why not relax and soothe your daily fatigue in this historic hot spring?

It is famous for its plum blossoms, with around 3,000 plum trees of 100 varieties planted. The beauty of the six varieties of plum trees known as the "Mito Six Famous Trees," with their excellent flower shapes and fragrance, is a must-see.
