Hot Spring Specialties

Local beer brewed using traditional techniques using the bounty of Unazuki
This handmade beer is a local specialty, made with Kurobe's famous waters from the 3000m-high mountains and Unazuki's two-rowed barley, brewed using traditional techniques by a master craftsman invited from Germany. The live yeast is left in and not removed, so you can get vitamins and minerals as well as a rich flavor. It is also characterized by a creamy foam that preserves the fresh flavor, and you can enjoy three different flavors: the crisp "Jujikyo," the fruity "Torocco," and the mellow "Kamoshika."

Hot Springs

Enjoy a trip on the trolley train while soaking in hot springs
The Kurobe Gorge Railway, which runs by trolley from Unazuki Station to its final stop, Keyakidaira Station, began as a private railway run by an electric power company. This miniature railway, with a track width of 762 mm, weaves its way through the V-shaped gorge, weaving through the folds of the mountains in about 1 hour and 20 minutes one way, at an average speed of about 16 km per hour. During its 20.1 km length, which is woven together with a seasonal panorama, it passes through 41 tunnels and crosses 21 bridges. During the operating period from mid-Apr. to late Nov., you can enjoy the beauty of the gorge, which is full of things to see, and at Unazuki Onsen you can watch the trolley train running through the gorge.
