A colorful azalea colony spreads out before your eyes
In season, the flowering landscape of the Yawata Azalea colony spreads out before your eyes from the inn's "Zekkein Ipponkaku." Designated by the Ministry of the Environment as one of the "Top 100 Fragrant Landscapes," this is a literally overwhelming azalea colony, with 200,000 mountain azaleas and Renge azaleas in full bloom over an area of 23 hectares. The best time to see them is around late May., and there is a walking path around the area that takes about 40 minutes to go around. Originally this was pasture land for Nasukoma, and it is said that the azalea colony developed as a result of the horses not eating the azaleas.

Hot Springs

The evolution of the "Seven Nasu Hot Springs" since their opening
The Nasu Onsen area began with the discovery of Shikanoyu about 1380 years ago, and the hot springs of Itamuro, Mitogoya, Daimaru, Kita, Benten, and Takao were discovered, and were known as the "Seven Nasu Hot Springs" in the Edo period. In the Meiji period, Yawata Onsen was discovered, and in the Taisho period, Asahi, Imori, and Kakuko Onsen were discovered, and the Shin Nasu Onsen, which has water drawn from it, was added, making the "Twelve Nasu Hot Springs." Today, excluding Itamuro, which is a little far away, there are "Eleven Nasu Hot Springs," and because Asahi, Imori, and Kakuko Onsen no longer have any lodgings or facilities, the hot springs excluding these are counted as the "Seven Nasu Hot Springs."
