The farm's soft serve ice cream is also a treat
Dairy farming has been popular around Nasu Onsen since ancient times, and there are many tourist ranches such as Nasu Rindoko Family Farm, Nasu Kogen Minamigaoka Farm, Nasu Big Farm Alpaca Farm, and Senbonmatsu Farm. You can interact with animals, enjoy barbecues and attractions. Most of these sell fresh dairy products, but the most popular is their rich soft serve ice cream. The deliciousness of fresh milk is concentrated in the ice cream, and limited-time flavors such as cherry blossom and strawberry ice cream are not to be missed.

Nasu Onsen, where Matsuo Basho stopped
Haiku poet Matsuo Basho stopped off at Shikanoyu in Nasu Onsen during his journey through Oshu. Apr. 1689, Basho and his disciple Kawai Sora visited Nasu Onsen Shrine, where Nasu no Yoichi made a prayer, and then went to see the utamakura (poem-filled) Sessho-seki (killing stone), and composed the haiku "The scent of the stone, the summer grass reddened with dew." He describes the situation at the time as "The Sessho-seki is in the mountain shady area, where hot springs flow. The poison of the stone has not yet disappeared, and bees and butterflies die in such piles that the color of the sand cannot be seen," conveying the desolate atmosphere of the surrounding area.
