Hot Spring Specialties

The hot spring's specialty is the steamy, freshly fried croquette
Sakabun Butcher Shop, located near Kawaji Fureai Park, is a famous croquette shop that is renowned for its delicacies that represent hot springs. It has a nostalgic, old-fashioned flavor, but it uses Imakane Danshaku chicken from Hokkaido, which gives it a fluffy texture and a crispy batter that is exquisite. In addition to over 10 different varieties, fried chicken thighs, which stand out for their flavor and how well they are fried, are also popular. It has been featured in magazines and on TV programs many times, and many customers stop by from far away, so it is recommended to visit early, as some items sell out by the evening.

Hot Springs

A sacred stone with infinite benefits and impact!
A sacred stone called "Onadeshi" is enshrined near Yakushi-no-Yu in the hot spring town. It is a stone with an image resembling a vagina that was discovered upstream when the Kinugawa River flooded after the war. It is said that if you stroke the crack and make a wish, your wish will come true, and the stones that were donated as thanks for the fulfillment of wishes are lined up in a row. There are so many phallic shaped stones lined up inside and around the shrine that it is difficult to tell which is the principal image. Some people reach out and touch the phallic stone at the shrine, but the simple rectangular stone in front of the shrine is said to be the true "Onadeshi".
