"Yufuin Gold Award Croquette" is a popular croquette that won the gold medal at a nationwide croquette competition. It is made with Hokkaido Danshaku potatoes and lean Wagyu beef mince. The outside is crispy and fragrant, and you can fully enjoy the delicious flavor of the beef. It is sold freshly fried at a food stall, so you'll want to eat one while strolling around. "P Roll" is a roll cake produced by the inn "Sanso Muryota." It is an extremely soft roll cake, and is popular for its rich flavor despite being light on cream and sweetness.

A film festival with a long history
Since the 1970s, the town of Yufuin has been working to improve its environment with female visitors in mind. One of these efforts is the Yufuin Film Festival. Started in 1976, it is the oldest existing film festival in Japan, having been held over 30 times. It is a pioneer of regional film festivals, and since Yufuincho does not have a movie theater, it is also known as the "film festival in a town without a movie theater." It is held over five days in Aug. every year, and is popular not only for the screenings but also for the parties held every night, which provide an opportunity for filmmakers and audiences to talk directly with each other.
