Tourist Attraction Information

The Otome Falls in Yokoya Valley, a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves, is perfect for a walk. Tateshina Central Highlands, Otaki Falls, Lake Tateshina, and Lake Shirakaba are also nearby by car.

Highlights

This hot spring is a single inn on the banks of the Shibukawa River that flows through the Yokoya Gorge. The water is brown and rich in iron. There is a legend that it is Shingen's secret hot spring.

Popular 100% handmade soba noodles
The soba restaurant "Yurakuan" has its own soba workshop where they grind whole buckwheat in a stone mill. Their handmade soba noodles are made using only spring water from Yokoya Gorge, and are highly regarded for carrying on the tradition of offering Shinshu cold-dried soba noodles to the shogunate. Kaiseki meals centered on local cuisine, including this handmade 100% soba, are also popular.

A stroll through the power spot of Yokoya Valley
A walking trail has been established in Yokoya Valley, known as a power spot. Along the trail, there are plenty of sights to see, including Oshidori Kakushi Falls, an observation deck, Yokoya Kannon, Otaki Falls, Byobuiwa, Washiwa, the giant rock of the dragon god, the Oiwa Shrine where the "energy" of the blue dragon is said to flow downstream, Kirifuri Falls, Otome Falls, and Kidoguchi Shrine, which is associated with Shingen. Japanese serows sometimes make an appearance on the opposite bank of the trail. There are also many chances to encounter various mountain animals, such as deer and owls.
