Hot Spring Specialties

The new specialty of Tokachigawa Onsen is tasty pork
A new specialty of Tokachigawa Onsen is the "Tokachigawa Moor Onsen Pork." The pigs are raised in a free-range environment and fed with moor hot spring water, which is also used in cosmetics, instead of water, resulting in juicy, sweet, tasty, and tender meat. Dishes made with this pork are served at the hot spring inns in Tokachigawa Onsen, as well as retort pouches of "Tokachigawa Moor Onsen Pork Bowl" and "Moor Pork Curry," which make perfect souvenirs. There is also a cup-type "Tokachigawa Onsen Tokachi Ramen" that uses moor hot spring pork for the char siu.

Hot Springs

Take a leisurely stroll and enjoy encounters with flora and fauna
A footpath that has existed in the area since ancient times allows you to walk while enjoying the natural scenery. There are many walking courses in Hokkaido, including rural areas, hilly regions, and pastures. One of these, Tokachigawa Onsen Footpath, has three courses that take you around the banks of the Tokachi River, Tokachi Ecology Park, and Tokachigaoka Observatory. On each course you can enjoy encountering Tokachi's scenery, flora, and fauna. There are signs along the course that show the route and your current location. Staff at the guide center will also provide information on seasonal flowers and other sights to see.
