Hot Spring Specialties

A winter gem with hot springs and a freezing atmosphere
As its name suggests, Kawayu Onsen is a hot spring that flows like a river, and in the coldest of winters when temperatures drop below minus 10 degrees, moisture in the air freezes into fine ice, which tends to float around in the air. The countless ice particles that form the fine ice reflect light beautifully and sparkle, making them known as diamond dust, and are a seasonal feature of Kawayu in winter. Yunokawa Park will have illuminations Image by delicate diamond dust, as well as events themed around diamond dust.
