八雲町のおいしい地産ブランド品
日本海と太平洋に面する日本で唯一の町・八雲町。2つの海からさまざまな魚介類が獲れるが、その中でも八雲町を代表する特産品がボタンエビだ。八雲町の漁協では「落部船団活ぼたん海老」としてブランド化を進め、温度変化に弱いボタンエビを生きたまま輸送する方法を考案・実用化した。甘みが強く、プリプリとした食感のボタンエビは、すしネタとしても人気が高く、町内のすし店でも提供される。また、しゃぶしゃぶも美味。
