Hot Spring Specialties

The summer and autumn cabbage from the cool climate of Tsumagoi is exceptionally tasty
Tsumagoi Village, located in a highland area at an altitude of 700m to 1400m, is famous nationwide as a producer of summer and autumn cabbage. The average temperature in the village from Jun. to Sep. is exactly at the optimum temperature for cabbage growth, 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, and the cool climate, combined with the high summer rainfall and temperature difference between day and night, produces the finest highland cabbage, which is crisp, juicy, sweet, full and tender. Around the Tsumagoi Panorama Line, green cabbage fields spread out as far as the eye can see, creating a beautiful and refreshing highland landscape.

Hot Springs

Enjoy the thrill of fishing on a beautiful highland lake
Lake Baragi is a refreshing highland resort overlooking Mount Asama, Mount Azuma, and Mount Kusatsu-Shirane, which are all part of the "100 Famous Mountains of Japan." Adjacent to the "MUJI Campania Tsumagoi Campsite," it is a great spot to relax and enjoy nature. Fishing is permitted in the fishing area from late Apr. to early Nov., and ice fishing for smelt can be enjoyed during the coldest months of the year. Many rainbow trout are released into the lake, and it is highly rated for the enjoyment of battling with the wild fish in the natural environment.
