Hot Spring Specialties

Kanezaki Fishing Port is renowned for its local brands.
The "Tsuri-Aji Gen-chan" is a premium horse mackerel, only given to fish over 26 cm caught in the Genkai Sea. Kanezaki is also famous for its natural tiger pufferfish, branded as "Kanezaki Torafuku," caught by the local fishing fleet. Fresh dishes made from these pufferfish are exquisite. Kanezaki Ika (squid) is prized for its transparent, elastic flesh and sweet, melt-in-your-mouth flavor.

Hot Springs

Satsuki Matsubara, One of Japan's Top 100 Scenic Spots
One of the most famous sights in Genkai Quasi-National Park is the white sand and green pine trees. Among them is Satsuki Matsubara, located about halfway between Fukuoka and Kitakyushu. This beautiful coastline stretches for about 5 kilometers and is lined with 200-year-old black pine trees. The reforestation of Satsuki Matsubara, next to the hotel, began over 400 years ago. Shortly after becoming the first lord of Chikuzen Province, Nagamasa Kuroda ordered the planting of pine trees to protect the fields from wind and sand. Over time, this effort blended with nature, creating the stunning scenery we see today.
