Hot Spring Specialties

A local bowl of rice that lets you fully enjoy high-quality wild tuna
Fukaura Town is one of the towns in Aomori Prefecture that boasts a large amount of tuna landings. Bluefin tuna that migrate across the Sea of Japan gather on the coast of Fukaura Town before heading to Oma. Although the tuna from Fukaura is a little small, it is known for its moderate fat and flavor, and the "Fukaura Tuna Steak Bowl" allows you to fully enjoy this tuna as sashimi, grilled on one side, or grilled on both sides. Three small bowls are available: a bowl topped with Fukaura yam and wasabi for sashimi, a bowl with shredded egg for the grilled tuna, and a bowl with tuna flakes for the grilled tuna, and the grilled tuna is served with the restaurant's own sauce.

Hot Springs

The open-air bath overlooking the Sea of Japan is famous.
If you're a hot spring lover, you'll want to bathe in Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen at least once in your life. The hot spring springs up at the tip of Koganezaki, which juts out into the Sea of Japan and where the waves crash onto the shore. This lodging on high ground offers saunas and open-air baths with beautiful panoramas, but the specialty open-air bath on the coastal reef is known as a rustic, spectacular bath that seems to be one with the sea. The bath is filled with brown water that is high in iron, and as the wind blows, waves splash before your eyes. Of course, please note that the bath is closed in bad weather.
