Hot Spring Specialties

Enjoy a delicious hotpot in the birthplace of Kiritanpo
Yuze Onsen in Kazuno City, the birthplace of kiritanpo, is close to the birthplace of Hinai chicken, which is used in kiritanpo nabe, and you can enjoy authentic kiritanpo nabe with its rich soup. Kiritanpo nabe, a "mother's taste" that has been passed down for generations, is a dish of hospitality and a delicacy served on ceremonial occasions, and each inn and restaurant offers its own unique flavor. Tanpo made from Akitakomachi rice is at its best from Shimmai season, so it's best to try it from autumn to winter.

Hot Springs

Relax on the walking trails along the Yuze Valley
One of the five therapy roads in Kazuno, the Forest Therapy Road, is also listed in the "New Tourism 30 Views of Akita." A walking path has been developed along the Yuze Valley, which stretches for about 4km from Yuze Onsen to Hachimantai Azusawa, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery while trekking. There are deep cliffs on both sides, and the Yoneshiro River flowing below is majestic and breathtaking. There are many sights to see, such as the Yoneshiro River overlooked from Tengu Bridge, Shishibuchi, and the Himekomatsu pine tree growing on the rocks on top of the cliffs, and the road is especially popular during the seasons of new greenery and autumn leaves.
