きりたんぽ発祥の地で食す絶品鍋
きりたんぽ発祥の地・鹿角市にある湯瀬温泉は、きりたんぽ鍋に入れる比内鶏の産地にも近く、コクのあるスープの本場のきりたんぽ鍋が味わえる。代々受け継がれてきた「おふくろの味」であるきりたんぽ鍋は、おもてなし料理であり、冠婚葬祭の際にも出されるご馳走で、宿や店それぞれでこだわりの味が楽しめる。あきたこまちで作るたんぽは、新米の季節からが絶品の味となるので、秋から冬にかけてぜひとも味わいたい。

温泉のあれこれ

湯瀬渓谷沿いの散策路に癒される
鹿角に5ヶ所あるセラピーロードの1つが森林セラピーロードで、「新観光秋田30景」にも挙げられている。湯瀬温泉から八幡平小豆沢へ続く約4kmの湯瀬渓谷沿いに散策路が整備され、トレッキングしながら景色を楽しむことができる。両側は深い断崖絶壁となっていて、その下を流れる米代川は雄大で息をのむほど。天狗橋から見下ろす米代川や、獅子淵や断崖の上の岩に生える姫子松など見所が多く、特に新緑と紅葉の時期が人気。
