Highlights

Tamagawa Onsen was expanded by drawing water from the hot spring. This is a lodging house located within a national park, and the large bath has seven types of bathrooms, including a reclining bath and a waterfall bath.

Hot Spring Specialties

Hana Onsen, a hot spring with a reputation for its highly effective properties
Tamagawa Onsen no Hana is a bath additive made by adding natural kaolin (white clay) as a dispersant to mineral deposits collected from the same source, Tamagawa Onsen. Tamagawa Onsen is a highly acidic hot spring, and when the gushing boiling water is poured into a long tub, the mineral deposits in the boiling water gradually adhere to the surface of the tub as they come into contact with the air. These deposits are collected once a month and dried, creating a natural adhesion method. The mineral deposits are extremely fine and are said to have a good effect on the skin. It's a must-buy souvenir to take home.

Hot Springs

Increase the effectiveness of hot baths with the correct bathing method
Tamagawa Onsen is known for its rock sauna, and Shin-Tamagawa Onsen offers a similar hot spring bath. To do this, choose a spot with geothermal heat, lay a mat on it and lie down. Cover your body with a towel or blanket to prevent heat from escaping. Do this for about 30-40 minutes at a time, once or twice a day. Be careful to turn your body from time to time to prevent low-temperature burns. You will also sweat a lot, so it's a good idea to wear light clothing such as a sweatshirt, bring drinks to stay hydrated, and shorten the time you bathe if you're tired.
