ぬめりがおいしいじゅんさいを味わう
三種町は、独特のぬめりとツルリとした喉ごしが特徴の「じゅんさい」の代表的な産地で、温泉地周辺にはじゅんさいを収穫する湖沼が点在。初夏の味覚として親しまれてきた。また、医食同源の中国医学では、古くからじゅんさいの薬効を認めていて、抗がん作用や解熱、解毒、胃弱を治す、腫れを消す等の効果があるとされる。三杯酢や天ぷら、鶏鍋など料理の応用は豊富で、丸富ホテルでは「じゅんさい鍋」が名物となっている。

森岳温泉を熱くさせる恒例の夏まつり
毎年8月下旬に温泉街と惣三朗沼公園で開催される夏のイベントが「森岳温泉夏まつり」。前夜祭では、浴衣コンテストやカラオケ大会が催される。当日の見ものは100mの距離を誇る流しじゅんさいや、わんこじゅんさい選手権。さらにはじゅんさい踊りや、花火ショー、地元秋田のエンターテイナーによる野外コンサートが祭りを盛り上げる。
