Tsugaru shamisen is a traditional music that Aomori Prefecture is proud of. The "Tsugaru Shamisen Japan Championship" has been held every year since 2007 in Aomori City.

In response to the voices of people who want to listen carefully to the performance of the Japan's best performer who was just selected at the "Tsugaru Shamisen Japan Championship," the "Tsugaru Culture Evening" is held on the evening of the event.
