A walk along the Kouri Bridge with a spectacular view and an evening of Okinawan dance and traditional Japanese houses

A scenic stroll along the Kouri Bridge, which feels like walking on the sea

Kouri Ohashi Bridge is a 1,960-meter-long bridge that connects Kouri Island in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa's main island with Yagaji Island. It opened on Feb. 8, 2005, and has become a popular tourist destination as an isolated island that can be reached by car. The sea around Kouri Island boasts some of the clearest water on Okinawa's main island. Crossing the straight Kouri Ohashi Bridge makes you feel like you're walking on the sea.

Enjoy dinner and Kachashi dancing in an old Okinawan house.

Please enjoy a leisurely stroll across the Kouri Bridge. In addition, at another venue, there will be dinner in an old Okinawan house, as well as a dance class with local people and a shamisen performance. Let's all dance the Kachashi and enjoy the Okinawan night!

The Ryukyu Sea Flame Festival, with the theme of "The earliest moving summer in Japan", will celebrate its 14th anniversary in 2017. It is a major Okinawan entertainment event full of originality, fusing fireworks, a seasonal feature of the Japanese summer, with Okinawan music and culture, and boasts one of the largest firework illusions in Japan.
