What is Sanriku Railway?

Sanriku Railway was damaged in the Great Tohoku Earthquake five years ago, putting all of its lines out of service. Restoration work was carried out, and the entire line resumed operation on the South Rias Line on Apr. 5, 2014, and on the North Rias Line on Apr. 6, and Sanriku Railway was fully restored. Sanriku is a land of magnificent scenery, interwoven with beautiful coastlines and topography, and you can enjoy the diverse landscapes created by the coastal topography that symbolizes Sanriku from the train windows along the line.

During the campaign period, a chartered train with a Club Tourism headmark will operate between Kuji Station and Fudai Station. Inside the train, various goods and photo panels will be on display to welcome you. During the train, a guide dressed as a "woman diver" will talk about the attractions of the area and sing famous songs to guide you on your railroad journey.

There are lots of unique features that only an original event can offer!

• While the train is moving, it will slow down at scenic spots. Please enjoy taking photos and the beautiful scenery.
• At Shimakoshi Station, we will visit Club Tourism Monument. You will be asked to fill out a "Support Message Card" for Shimakoshi, who continues to recover. (Some tours do not stop at this station. Please refer to the itinerary for details.)
• Comes with a Sanriku Railway boarding certificate as a souvenir
• In Kuji, we will also take you on a walk around the town with "Ama-chan"♪ (Some tours do not include a walk around the town. Please refer to the itinerary for details.)
