Miharu Takizakura

Miharu Takizakura (Image)

This weeping cherry tree is a nationally designated natural monument estimated to be over 1,000 years old, and is counted among Japan's three most famous cherry trees. It is said that the tree got its name from the fact that the branches are covered with small pale pink flowers that look like a waterfall. It shows different expressions depending on the location, but the flowers and trunk from the front are the highlight.
The Takizakura cherry blossoms are also beautiful when lit up at night.
