Tsuruga Castle is the symbol of Aizuwakamatsu City. In 2011, the roof of the castle tower was replaced with red tiles, restoring it to its appearance at the end of the Edo period. The castle tower is now a local museum, where a wide variety of historical materials from Aizu are on display. In the park, about 1,000 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino, Edo Higan, Weeping Cherry, and Yamazakura, bloom in abundance. During the flowering season, the trees are lit up, allowing you to enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms at night.

In 1888 (Meiji 21), a steam explosion caused a mountain collapse on the north side of the peak of Mt. Bandai, including Kobandai, and a rock avalanche blocked the river, forming hundreds of lakes and marshes in the area, including Bishamon Lake. This mysterious place is known as the "mysterious lakes and marshes," with different colors depending on the marsh, from emerald green, cobalt blue, turquoise blue, emerald blue, and pastel blue. Aonuma in particular shows off beautiful colors that make it hard to believe they were created by nature.
